World Voices Project

A Creative Effort to Remind...

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was ratified and signed by the member states of the United Nations n 1948. It has been translated into 369 languages. Despite the signing of this document 60 years ago this year, numerous countries continue to violate the tenets of the Declaration.

The Declaration proclaims our inherent right to dignity and well being. It’s a document that will one day no longer need be spoken of; it will have been realized for us all. Until then, I hope to be a part of making our voices heard.

The World Voices Project is an effort to remind the listener that these rights are for us all; no matter what religion, language, race, social class or income level; when it comes to human rights, we speak with one voice.

E. Roosevelt

“Where, after all, do human rights begin? In small places- close to home- so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. Such are the places where every man, woman and child seeks equal justice, equal opportunity, and equal dignity, without discrimination. Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere.”

Eleanor Roosevelt, Former President of the U.N.'s Commission on Human Rights

The intention of World Voices Project is to be presented throughout the United States and throughout the world as an audio installation exhibited in a variety of venues. It's our goal that museums, corporations, governments, NGO's, colleges and universities, and any other entity or group, adopt World Voices Project as their own and present it in their respective locations.
